Merry Christmas!  Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. It is such a comfort to know that he will govern our lives and the ministry of Bible Alive Theater. 2019 has been a year of unexpected change for us as we are coming to understand the limitations of health and age, but it is during this time that the Lord has spoken of a new and exciting vision for the future of Bible Alive. So, as we come to the close of 2019, we look forward with great anticipation to what the Lord Jesus will do with Bible Alive Theater in 2020. The first chapter of the Book of John tells us of our ‘Mighty God’ in whom we find our purpose. Read the following excerpts and join us in praising him.

Jn. 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. Jn. 1:12 Yet, to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Jn. 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Jn. 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known. Jn. 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

‘Jesus, Light of the World’ Our Farmington, NM team brought the book of John to life in the new musical we presented the end of August at the San Juan College Little Theater. It was especially wonderful for us, as all of our children and six of our grandchildren were in the musical with Clif and myself. Kristen Youts did a terrific job of directing and all 4 presentations of the musical were beautifully done. Everyone in it did a spectacular job and the audiences were really blessed. Several members of our Farmington BAT team also brought a wonderful presentation of ‘The Woman at the Well’ to a Ladies Retreat in June to Beclabito Baptist Church near Shiprock, NM. The church was nearly full and several lives were changed by the Word of God as it came and spoke to the hearts of women who had been looking for love and fulfillment in the world and finally found it in Jesus our Savior. Our BAT members were privileged to pray with many of the ladies who came forward after the play to begin or deepen their relationship with Jesus. Sandy Efird and the  Farmington BAT youth also presented ‘The Woman at the Well for First Baptist Church Farmington’s Women’s Bible Study in September. What a wonderful blessing to see these young people learning the Word of God by plugging into Bible Alive Theater!

Training Center Activity Practicing ‘Jesus, Light of the World’ at the Aztec Training Center for Bible Alive Theater (BAT) was wonderful. There were over 50 people in the cast and crew, so as you can imagine practices were very exciting. Every room was utilized for acting, child care, feeding the hungry actors etc. We filled up each of the 50 chairs that were donated by World Harvest Center Church in Farmington.  The 30’x30’ theater space now has a small stage and all the props and set pieces displayed for convenience. The technical booth is ready for equipment so we can hang the wonderful stage lights donated by the Drama Club at Alamo Country Club in S. TX. We hosted our first Leadership Training, a five day seminar, with 5 people in attendance. They are now equipped for leading a Bible Alive Theater full cast ministry or doing solo or small cast productions Three of them already have solo musicals in their area booked for 2020. We  are also looking at adding a recording studio where we will look at recording all of our current full cast musicals; incorporating many of our Bible Alive Theater members.

Bible Alive Theater Solo Musicals Almost every year I have had the privilege of presenting the Christmas story in character as Mary the mother of Jesus. I will be presenting this musical 4 times in S. Texas this season.  Please check our website ‘Calendar’ for dates and times near you. We are also booking dates for myself and our affiliate soloist for 2020; In New Mexico Hannah Phillips presents Ruth, the Redeemer’s Bride and Mary of Magdala. Sandy Efird or Stephanie Lewis who both present ‘The Woman at the Well’. In Ohio Carissa Leipold presents Mary of Magdala and Mary’s Christmas Story. These young women trained this summer and are ready to bless your church or special event soon. You can call me at 505-690-2548 or  email me at info@biblealivetheater.com with your requested date.

Ministry in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas  We will not be doing the full cast musical of the book of Ruth as planned, though I will be presenting the solo version at Alamo Country Club, Alamo, TX in February.  Clif and I have had health issues that have prevented us from leading the full cast ministry in South Texas this year, but we are hoping to use this winter to train our members in the RGV to carry on next season. Though we don’t have a full cast musical in the Valley this year I still have 5 solo musicals scheduled in S. Texas.  The weekly ‘Journey Through the Bible’ study  I am teaching in the RGV  has 30 regular attendees and we have added an evening class as well, Thursdays at 1pm and repeated again at 6:30pm It is an in-depth study through the Bible. This is our second time through and we are just finishing Leviticus. We are all learning so much!

We are Reworking our Website If you have visited our website www.biblealivetheater.org recently you will see we are under construction. There is a new format that is easier to read on your phone or other electronic devices. We are making changes to the way we do Bible Alive Theater and those changes will be reflected in our new website design as well as the content.
